Texans Gamer: Planting that face on the season
The Texans wrap up their regular season with a meaningless win over the Titans
The Texans completed their destiny in once again beating the OilerTitans in Nashville for the second straight year. The game last year had high stakes and no C.J. Stroud, going to overtime before Case Keenum eventually pulled out a win. The game this year had no stakes and one sprinkling of C.J. Stroud.
Stroud and the offense “get back on track”
The Texans seemed happy with themselves, but on my website we try not to soft-peddle things. I didn’t love that first drive ending with a) a delay of game on first-and-goal from the 1 and b) a wide-open receiver via coverage bust:
It’s not like the Texans can do anything differently when the Titans just lose one of the best receivers in the NFL like that. So is it a little unfair? Sure. But I would have liked to have seen a nice in-rhythm hard throw to conclude that drive. I would have liked Joe Mixon to have actually gained yards on second-and-goal from the 2.
