The unfair thing about the state of the NFL is that there is a pinwheel effect that happens when you are a dynasty team like the Chiefs. Win and you generate goodwill. Negotiate early with your quarterback and his cap hits are manageable even though he’s one of the best players in NFL history. And from there, when it comes to trades, there are always teams looking to give up on good players for silly reasons.
